What's New @ WCA!
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to West Central Area Schools’ 2018-2019 school year! I am proud of our collaborative and positive staff that is focused on creating positive learning experiences for all students. The district strives to live its mission every day.
Our mission statement is:
“ To challenge and support our students, staff, and families in each person’s growth as an engaged learner and successful citizen of our community.”
We work collaboratively towards our strategic direction goals in order to:
1. Enrich community connections and to strengthen support for the school district.
2. Maximize learning opportunities through curriculum, instructional strategies, technology and
professional learning communities.
3. Improve and expand facilities and programs to achieve excellence.

As a member of the WCA Schools you should anticipate seeing activity and progress towards these goals. We will continue to share our stories of implementation with you through various modes of communication.
Avenues of communication are as follows:
Newspaper • Website • School Messenger
Constant Contact  •  Letters • Facebook
Rschools app
An important new program that I would like to share with you isPositive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS). PBIS is a school-wide approach to teach and support positive school behavior. This program is used in schools across the nation to improve culture and climate. Our three schools have a PBIS leadership team as well as a district leadership team to ensure that our PBIS initiative is aligned with our district strategic plan.
Together we can create an educational atmosphere that our communities are proud of and experiences that will last a lifetime. This year our tag line for our strategic plan is: CHALLENGE LEARN SUCCEED!
I invite you to join us in celebrating the large school opportunities that we provide in a small school setting here at West Central Area Schools as one united district. I am proud to be a KNIGHT!
