OPPORTUNITY West Central Minnesota Wrestling Club provides possibilities of competing throughout Minnesota and beyond. Tournaments and practice partners are available for wrestlers of all skill levels, from beginners to High School wrestlers. The West Central Wrestling Club provides a tremendous experience and members can add to their yearly match count and mat time with experienced coaches and wrestlers from the surrounding area.   HOW WILL FREESTYLE HELP MY FOLKSTYLE?      FREESTYLE TEACHES YOU TO: Control the center of the mat and increase your mat awareness Finish your shots on your feet (finish quickly and efficiently) Turn guys on top (TILTS) Use your hips to not get turned on the bottom INCREASED MAT TIME AND COMPETITION!!!   HOW WILL GRECO-ROMAN HELP MY FOLKSTYLE?      GRECO TEACH YOU TO: Use your hips offensively and defensively Feel comfortable in ties (Neutral Position) Move guys in ties, SNAPS! Turn guys on top (TILTS) INCREASED MAT TIME AND COMPETITION!!!   MORE  BENEFITS  TO  HELP  YOU  BECOME  A  BETTER  WRESTLER Because West Central Wrestling Club is a chartered and sanctioned club you will get workout partners that you didn’t have during your regular season.  In addition to wrestling technique, instruction is offered on the following:  nutrition, goal setting, strength training, visualization, peaking for big tournaments, and strategy.     If you haven’t tried FREESTYLE yet… The West Central Wrestling Club is the perfect place to start. The coaches are dedicated to helping new members make rapid progress. Freestyle wrestling is very similar to folkstyle (high school/college). Nearly every successful Division 1 college wrestler has a strong freestyle background (as with the U of M Gophers).
